Seeking a path less traveled, Nikki joined the United States Marine Corps as CBRN Defense Specialist. After spending 8 years acquiring expertise in this new world, she has decided to stay the course as a CBRN Technician with LufCo. Nikki is an adventurous being, enjoys watching college football, and playing rec league kickball in the spring and fall.
A successful builder of diverse and innovative teams which solve hard problems, Dale comes to LufCo after 22 years of experience with the FBI as a subject matter expert in insider threat, counter terrorism, and entity resolution. Dale also served as an enlisted soldier with the Army’s 2nd Ranger Battalion from 1980 – 1984, participating in Operation Urgent Fury in the country of Grenada and the rescue of over 130 hostages there. During his downtime you will find Dale traveling the world with his bride Rhea or at his cabin in northern Pennsylvania enjoying the great outdoors.
Mark joins LufCo with 25 years of experience supporting and leading DoD programs. Originally educated in Computer Science, he brings strong technical and program management capabilities combined with significant business development experience to the team. He has a passion for his work, his family, and for food. When he is not working, he likes to cook, play golf (or at least try), and enjoys serving on the Harford County Public Library Foundation Board.
Joining the contracting community immediately after completing her Bachelors in Math, Emily has quickly developed a mastery of making more happen with less in the world of systems engineering, Agile/SCRUM, and data analysis. Emily’s engineering expertise has focused on cloud analytics, cybersecurity, and more. She continues to challenge herself to learn and grow on a daily basis, recently completing her Masters in Systems Engineering from UMBC. Emily and her fiancé’ are now enjoying more free time together post-graduate school through weekend camping trips, boating, and a variety of other outdoor adventures.
With twenty years experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining databases from Oracle to MongoDB and Postgres, Diana joined the LufCo team in 2017. Drawn to the company’s family oriented outlook and diversity of projects, she enjoys the wealth of knowledge the team brings and the unique part she plays in that mix. In her spare time, you can find Diana attending sporting events – some even just for fun…the rest in support of her three very active kids – and vacationing (aka recovering) at the beach.
Stephanie worked for the government for a little over three years as an AutoCad specialist and intelligence analyst. She then decided that moving to a small company was a better fit, and stayed for over a decade. Continuing to work and adapt to multiple changing environments, she has morphed into a well rounded engineer in a wide range of technical areas from analysis to information assurance. As LufCo’s newest addition, she is looking forward to a new adventure and stepping back back into small company life along with her husband and three little ones (all under 5…help!)
Brett is a dedicated, knowledgeable, and extensively trained Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist for the United States Marine Corps. His expertise includes coordinating cutting-edge defense systems and overall operations for critical detection of CBRN devices, and he effectively evaluates and disseminates information to personnel in order to eliminate destruction to personnel and equipment.
Originally an aspiring mathematician, Colette found her love for software development after taking her first Computer Science class during her Sophomore year in college. Having been one of the few remaining students to be taught in Ada, she quickly landed an internship in the defense sector and launched her career as a Software Engineer. From missile simulators and 3D development to middleware and large scale authorization services, Colette has enjoyed seeking new challenges over the course of her 20+ year career. When not code jamming, she enjoys dabbling in graphic design and has high hopes of becoming a bogey golfer in her lifetime.
Dave brings over 15 years of software engineering experience to LufCo. His background spans work with the intelligence community, mobile application development, and custom projects for record labels and multi-platinum recording artists. He enjoys learning new technologies and programming languages. As a full-time coder and first time dad, Dave no longer recognizes the concept of free time, but when he did have it, he enjoyed playing music, hiking with his dogs, snowboarding, and participating in rec sports.
Having spent over 30 years with the United States Marine Corps as a Marine Scout Sniper and Mountaineering Instructor, Gary eventually found his way into the realm of Chemical and Biological Defense. He specializes in “Rocket Surgery” and currently supports the USMC Chemical Defense and Explosive Ordinance Disposal communities as the resident LufCo logistics technician. Gary is a true chameleon, able to relate and fit into any environment. In the rare event that he finds calendar white space, the time is spent between the local Young Marine Youth Organization, competitive shooting, and spending time with his wife and pack of rescue dogs.
Serving as an advisor to LufCo on our commercial ventures since 2014, Brad is a startup founder and collegiate faculty with significant experience starting, growing, and running entrepreneurial companies with a specialty in high-growth businesses, especially companies that have a technical underpinning.
Savannah has been working as a Software Engineer since graduating from the University of Maryland in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. She has experience that spans the full stack, including web application development, big data analytics, micro-services architectures, rapid prototyping, and team leadership. When she’s not writing software, you can find her working out at CrossFit or on the links trying to shoot the round of her life!
With over 25 years of engineering experience spanning the diverse domains of naval architecture, aerospace structures, aircraft surveillance and communications systems, web advertising optimization, the intelligence community and the internet of things, Jeff is a jack of all trades and a master of some. His diverse background makes it likely that if a customer relates their needs to him, he will find a way to get the team up to speed and working the problem quickly and productively. A team firing on all cylinders and working closely with an engaged customer is win-win for all involved. In order to fight off the effects of long hours thinking hard in front of glowing rectangles, Jeff enjoys running, hiking, paddling and skiing.
At IDA, Siemens, SAIC and NSA, Gary has led research, development and technology transfer in defense communications, speech recognition, electrical machinery and biomedicine. A member of the New York Academy of Sciences, he works at LufCo with customers and team members – zooming out for overall understanding, and zooming in to implement the details correctly.
Almost six years after accidentally joining the Army, Brent was adopted by Lufburrow and Co. when he refused to stop following them around at job fairs. With a diverse background in signals intelligence, program analytics, satellite communications, linguistics, and having too many cats, he brings an eclectic perspective to the team. While still fairly new to software systems development, he enjoys being challenged by the team to learn and grow his skills with the goal of someday being tasked to lead a development effort of his own.
Midwest Eagle Scout nerd hailing from Wright State University and the Air Force Institute of Technology. Completing his Computer Science Masters in Information Assurance solidified his dedication to the advancement of key management infrastructure and the personnel and data it protects. He now serves as principal level engineering support for these activities, pushing advanced deployment architectures and techniques to streamline deployments on systems of scale…and believes that the best way to settle an argument is still with a pair of ice skates and a hockey stick.
Greg started his professional career with LufCo after graduating from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2014 with a degree in Bioinformatics. Diving in to every opportunity provided, he has since gained full stack experience in everything from cloud based architectures and technologies to front-end web application development to installation of rack mounted hardware. When not tending to his saltwater aquarium, Greg enjoys traveling and the occasional game of kickball.
Following Beth’s graduation from the US Naval Academy in 2001, she served as a Cryptologic Officer and then joined the cleared contractor community in 2006. After helping build a small company followed by a stint with a large engineering integrator, she has returned to her love of building a strong small company foundation. Beth also enjoys her ongoing search for patience through never-ending home renovations.
Andy understands big vision and delivers results to prove it. Andy has 20+ years of “Big Data” projects for federal and commercial clients. He thrives solving difficult challenges whether starting new projects or jumping into something that is already underway. His experience includes software architecture, Full Stack DevOps and Software team leadership.
Heather has been leading Lufburrow & Company since 2013. She leads with respect, transparency, and trust for her employees and promotes flat, empowered, agile teams. She is a role model for aspiring executives and technologists within the community as well as an active volunteer in local educational STEM and Economic initiatives. With an extensive background supporting the Chem-Bio defense sector, she now applies her energies toward building trusted teams to rapidly develop and deploy reliable and innovative software solutions for government, commercial, and non-profit organizations.
